The artists
Grassau Brass Ensemble
Their name has become a synonym for thrilling brass sound, intriguing mastery and amazing interpretations. Their secret is simple: It is an unexhaustible variety. Early music is their language. As is traditional Bavarian repertoire. And they love topping all that with witty tune wedgies. This unique combination of musical integrity and energetic spirit has earned the ensemble a broad and devoted audience even beyond Bavaria's boarders.
Hans Leitner, organ
Born in Traunstein (Bavaria), he studied roman catholic theology and church music in Munich. He held the post of cathedral organist in Passau and is now cathedral organist and priest in Munich. In addition, he is teaching musical practice. His musical achievements are documented by a number of CD recordings as well as by his compositions and publications.
